Delft for Bride-to-Be Sonelda

Ina Groenewald

Today I am sharing a beautiful and elegant, delft inspired, bridal shower. An old friend recently started a lifestyle blog, The Gooseberry Blogall about what she loves and find interesting in life, travel, fashion, pretty things and her career of being a mommy. And this is where I came across these lovely images.

Her brother got married in December, and she and her sister, owner and creative at Paper Envy, was asked to plan and style the event.

My favorite details?

- The Paper Wall.

- The diamond drink stirrers, which also doubles as name placecards.

- The Crown!

From Lanese, The Gooseberry Blog:

Picking the theme was our first step. Sonelda absolutely loves delft blue décor and that made picking a theme very easy for us. Luckily for her we also happen to love delft and therefore we already had a lot of décor items we could use. This helped us keep our expenses low together with a lot of DIY elements.

We also wanted a Delft Photo Wall, that would be the focal point of the day and the main element to build our other décor around.

We decided to make an electronic invite using free graphic websites such as Canva and a few others. This gives you the option to choose from various free backgrounds which you can edit according to your colour theme. All other stationary like the name tags, tattoo station and polaroid guest book station was made the same way.

The Delft Photo Wall was made by my talented sister, Minette, from Paper Envy. This was not only used as a photo wall but also a general background during the day. Paper Envy creates beautiful paper flowers for any occasion. It’s made with a lot of love, passion and attention to detail. At the moment it’s all hand cut and made by Minette, ensuring absolute perfection. She’s currently based in the Eastern-Cape, but couriers nationwide.

For the table décor we used delft vases that we already had and sprayed empty glass coffee containers with Rust-Oleum metallic warm gold spray paint. The delft plates, underplates and blue wine and champagne glasses was also décor that we already had between myself, my sister and our mom. All the flowers were picked from the garden.
